Preap
Preap lives in a peaceful village of the Krolanh district, Siem Reap province, which is well-known for its Angkor Wat temple. Preap is married and a father of three children, who live with him in his own house. He has been a driver for a land transport company for almost two years and has his two sons working with him in order to share their responsibilities to this family. Aside from his main duties, he is also involved in farming to give his wife a helping hand.

Preap visited HKL to ask for a loan to build a bathroom in his home. As shown in the photo, he is standing with his wife in front of their bathroom. He hopes the loan will be approved, giving him the opportunity which will improve his family's health and increase the value of his house.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
