Please meet 42-year-old Mariama, who lives in West Point in Liberia, one of the most populated and well-known marketplaces in Montserrado county. She boasts of her high school diploma, and she said she is good at managing her home and business affairs. She is married to a security man, and they have a 13-year-old child who is attending school and lives at home.
For the past years, she has been selling soft drinks, cold water, biscuits, cookies and juice in the local market. The problem she faces is sometimes slow buying, but most of the time she realizes a profit, and she uses it to sustain her family. She is requesting a loan to purchase more soft drinks, cold water, biscuits, cookies and juice for her business. She hopes to build a house in the near future.
