Cartald is 34 years old, and is blessed with one child. He works as a driver, and a year ago he started running a cereals shop in the Changamwe area as an additional business. Cartald is employing someone else to run the cereal business in his place.
Cartald knew about Milango through friends, and he has now asked for a loan to buy bags of maize, rice and beans for sale. The major problem for his business is when he incurs losses. It then becomes very difficult to run the business smoothly. In five years time he would like to be running a successful wholesale shop dealing in cereals. The extra income generated by the loan will pay for his child’s school fees, and will help to improve his living standards.
