Jassa lives in Montserrado County, the capital city of Liberia. She is 31 years old, has completed 12th grade, is unmarried, and has two children, ages seven and one years old, who live at home. Only the oldest one is in school.
For the past seven years she has been selling pepper, oil, onions, vita, rice, etc., in the community market. She started this business with help from her fiancé and learned this way of selling from him.
She spends eight hours a day with her business, and she uses a taxi most of the time to get her goods to her table. She says, "I am a business-minded person, and I like my business because it gives me more profit."
She is requesting a loan to buy more pepper, oil, onions, vita, rice, etc., to increase her sales. She wants to get more money to educate her children and to build a house. She appreciates Kiva for its support.
