Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $625 helped a member to buy potash for her farmland.

Met's Group's story

Met, 39, is a married mother of four children. These days, only three of her children are dependent on her, as two of them are in school. The remaining one is still too young for schooling. Met's main source of income is rice farming, though she and her husband also work for others for a fee to supplement their income. She has been involved in her current business for ages and it has returned her about 8,800 Cambodian riel (KHR) per day. Met, who is new to VisionFund (Kiva’s partner), is leading her first microloan group, consisting of three female members, to seek a new loan. Met will spend her loan portion, 500,000 KHR, in order to buy potash for her farmland. She hopes to boost her crop yield and make a good income.
