A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a new mill motor; the one he has is already causing problems.

Leonardo De Jesús's story

Leonardo is from a family of 7 brothers and his mother, since his father died when he was 3 years old. Without any support from their father, his brothers had to be day laborers and work in seasons since it was a family of limited resources. Leonardo is 47 years old and is married.

As he was growing up and his brothers started working in agriculture on their own, that was when he married. Also, he was engaged in masonry. Six years ago, his cousin sold him a bad mixed mill and with much effort he acquired it. With the help of a friend who had worked in that area, he learned how to use it efficiently.

The materials for the maintenance of the bad mixed mill are bought in a city that is 6 kilometers from his home. He must get up early and leave, and have someone replace him in managing the mill. He has to return as soon as possible, and then there is little time to collaborate.

This loan, requested by Fundación Campo, is to buy a new mill motor; the one that he has is already causing problems. His objective is to have a well maintained and functioning mill and to give better service to his customers that visit.

Leonardo said that in his future, he wants to buy another mill and install it in a strategic place.
