Abbas, 41 years old and single, lives in a crowded neighborhood of Beirut.

This ambitious and hard-working man works in three different places: as a waiter in a restaurant close to his home, as maitre d' at night in a hotel of Beirut and, finally, he helps his brother with his small “Manakiche” bakery. The "manakiche" is a famous pizza bread that Lebanese usually eat for breakfast.

Abbas needs a loan for an amount of USD 1,000 to purchase a new bakery oven and expand the "Manakiche" family business. The income increase will help improve the livelihood of his brother's family. This is the first time Abbas has requested a loan from Al Majmoua.
