Ruth Marina
Ruth is a 47-year old woman who lives in the warm municipality of Sabanagrande, a village by the shore of Gran Río Magdalena (main river in Colombia), in the department of Atlántico. She lives with her husband and their three children: two boys aged 24 and 27, and one girl who is 21 years old. She works selling beef meat, sodas and phone calls by minutes. She started this business 10 years ago, thanks to her husband's initiative, who works in a slaughterhouse and brought meat for her to sell. She works Monday through Sunday from 7am to 8pm, buying in cash and selling on credit or in cash to neighbors, family and friends.

This is her first loan with Kiva through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the requested amount to buy meat and soda to serve her selected clientele. She hopes to improve her quality of life and to make improvements her store in the near future.

La señora Ruth tiene cuarenta y siete (47) años de edad, vive en el caluroso municipio de Sabanagrande, pueblo ribereño, del departamento del Atlántico, a orillas del Gran Río Magdalena, principal arteria fluvial de Colombia. Reside con su conyugue y tres (3) hijos, dos (2) varones de veinticuatro (24) y veintisiete (27) años de edad, y una joven de veintiun (21) años. Su actividad de negocio consiste en la venta de carnes de res, gaseosas y minutos de celulares. Inició este negocio desde hace diez (10) años, a partir de la iniciativa de su esposo, quien trabajaba en un matadero y le traía carnes para que ella las vendiera. Estas actividades comerciales las ejerce de lunes a domingo, de siete (7) de la mañana a ocho (8) de la noche, compra a los proveedores de contado, y vende a vecinos, amigos y familiares de contado y a crédito. Este es su primer credikiva con la Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, el cual lo aplicará en la compra de carnes, y gaseosas, para atender a su selecta clientela. Con estas inversiones espera mejorar su calidad de vida, y en un futuro cercano adecuar bien su local.
