Hellen is 40 years old, married to Phillip, and she supports a family of four. She is blessed with children between the ages of 12 and 18 years. She is a small scale horticulture farmer in Ainamoi location in Kericho county. She has been in this business for the last four years, and from this business she gets an average monthly income of KES 23,000.
She is borrowing a loan of KES 120,000, which is her third loan with KADET Ltd. With this loan she plans to use KES 50,000 to purchase maize seeds, fertilizers, and pay for labor, and the rest of the money will be used to buy young chicks for breeding.
With the anticipated profits Hellen intends to pay back the loan as well as pay school fees for her children. Her dream is to have her business grow and start a dairy farming business under a zero grazing unit.
