Santo Domingo is a important point for commercial activity in Ecuador as it is the principal doorway located on the border of the mountain and coastal regions of the country. This fact has contributed to the growth of the rural and urban zones of the area and the reason many entrepreneurs and micro-businesses have a presence here.

Mercedes is an enterprising woman, who thanks to a marketing chain of natural medicine, discovered the potential that was in her. Mercedes sells these practical products as dietary supplements, cosmetics, aesthetics and nutritional additives. She does this by going and visiting her clients who now are regular customers, many on recommendation of others.

Mercedes made the decision to assume this challenge to help her husband meet the household expenses. She is married to David Fernando who is a taxi driver. They have two children, aged 4 and 5. She had to stop working for a long time because of a difficult pregnancy with her second child. This caused a certain lowering of the family's living standard. So two years ago she took up her business again, calling on her customers and restocking product in her house in order to meet the needs of her clients.

The loan she is requesting is to buy new products that the chain is offering so she can provide them and their benefits to her customers. In this way Mercedes hopes to increase her income and reach a higher standard of living. And little by little attain her dream of heading a network of sellers of this product and assist the professional growth of many women.
