José Avilio
José is 44 years old, married, and has 4 children. He has been farming since he was 10 years old, as his parents didn't have the necessary resources to provide him an education, he had to learn how to work. He remembers, when his father who was a farmer all his life, would take him to the field where he was planting so that José could help him work, and in this way he learned which where his chores and tasks to do to grow the corn. José is a very experienced, hard-working, and above all honest person with desires to succeed.

He lives approximately 4 km from the coastal highway. So it takes a great effort when he has to go buy the items he needs to farm, as he has to walk this distance as there isn't regular transportation in the community where he lives. From there, he travels by bus to the city to buy everything he needs to plant. He has to do this same trip back to his home, but this time he has to pay for a car to take him as he couldn't otherwise return with all the supplies.

The loan he seeks from Fundación Campo is to buy seeds, fertilizers, herbicides to control weeds and insecticides to prevent infestations and plant 14,000 square meters of corn.

The investment will greatly help him, as he will plant and will have personal food for his family and with the rest he hopes to have income from the sale of the corn and in this way pay the loan and at the same time continue to have an open door for future loans with the foundation.

He believes that if God gives him life, he will continue growing corn. But he would like to plant greater quantities of land, and in the future he hopes to be able to opt for new loans in order to buy 7,000 square meters of land.
