Andrei and his family reside in a small, three-room house. The house is in a very bad state: there is no ceiling in one room, the whitewashing is peeling off, in some places there is mold, and the floor is old and wooden. Andrei is young but he puts his family first. He wants to do everything for his family to live in the best conditions.
Andrei is asking for a loan of 7,000 hryvnia to renovate the kitchen and one room. He is going to put in ceiling plaster boards, to putty and paint the walls, to put in laminate flooring and tile in the kitchen.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
