Alexander is 62 years old, married and the father of seven children. For the last four years, he has earned a living by selling farm produce in Mpeketoni, Lamu. He earns a monthly profit of 20,000 KES. Alexander was introduced to KADET by a credit officer, and is applying for his fourth loan of 52,000 KES to buy seeds, some fertilizer and other farm inputs needed for his business. He will use the profits made possible by this loan to pay school fees for his young children as well as expand his farming activities. His goal for the future is to venture into mixed farming with a view of increasing his income so as to improve his family's living standards
