This group is composed of three persons who reside in the same district. The group's representative, Yvette Assiba, is the one in the photo with her hand raised. This is the first time this group has requested financial support from ALIDé with the aim of boosting their businesses. Yvette Assiba is a widow and the mother of three children, not all in school, but all in her care.
Yvette Assiba did not go to school. She lives alone with her children and ensures by herself that their expenses are covered. For this reason, she has been selling a variety of goods (rice, sugar, soap, etc.) via the distribution system for thirteen years. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin.
With the goal of increasing her stock of products and responding further to the demands of her customers, Yvette Assiba together with the other members of her group would like to obtain a loan from ALIDé.

Dans le but d’augmenter le stock de ses produits et de mieux répondre à la demande de sa clientèle, Yvette Assiba ensemble avec les autres membres de son groupe, désire obtenir un crédit auprès de ALIDé.
Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.
Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
