Victoria is widowed, with eight children; none go to school. She also takes care of additional family members. She is a poultry farmer. She operates her business on a retail basis from home. She has been in business for the last 30 years and works seven days a week. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent and food.
Victoria has request 700,000 shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy poultry feed, vaccines and feeding utensils. Her major challenge is seasonality and transportation. Her aspiration is to buy a plot of land to start farming on a wholesale basis.
