Crystal’s hobby and love for photography turned into a business for herself more than two years ago. She financed the business with her own savings and began taking local contracts and jobs around the Baton Rouge area.

Crystal photographs weddings, birthdays and graduations all throughout the year and enjoys being part of each celebration. One day, while visiting the Louisiana Small Business Development Center in Baton Rouge, she learned about Accion Texas Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs with financing options for their new or existing small businesses.

After she inquired and applied with Accion, she was approved for a $5,450 loan and purchased lighting equipment, backdrops, editing software, seating props and tripods. Crystal will now be able to take on more contracts and special engagements, increase her income, and retain one full-time employee. Her next goal is to establish a website, but for now, she'll continue gaining referrals for future business through word of mouth.
