The “LUCERO DE LOS ANDES II” [Star of the Andes II] Communal Bank is applying for a second loan from the Los Andes Regional Office of Pro Mujer [Pro Woman]. LUCERO DE LOS ANDES II consists of eight members and is managed by a governing board led by the Chairwoman, Victoria. The members run various businesses, including wool textiles and the sale of shoes, fruits and other foods, and cosmetics.

The loan that the LUCERO DE LOS ANDES members are applying for will benefit the small businesswomen in the group. Victoria explains that she joined Pro Mujer seven years ago at the invitation of a representative from the institution who came to her home. Victoria's mother taught her to sell vegetables several years ago, and Victoria at first helped her mother. Victoria then decided to set up her own place of business, where she works now.

This loan will increase capital for the purchase of vegetables at markets in the city of El Alto. Victoria will then sell this produce sell at her place of business. Selling vegetables allows Victoria to earn income for household expenses. She is married and has a son.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Victoria answers that she likes the training and loans.

La A.C. “LUCERO DE LOS ANDES II” iniciará el segundo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Los Andes, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Victoria es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: colchones de lana, venta de calzados, venta de frutas, venta de cosméticos, venta de comida.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Victoria es integrante, ella indica que hace siete años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de verduras; cuenta que este negocio lo aprendió hace varios años atrás de su madre a quien le ayudaba a vender, posteriormente decide emprender su propio espacio de comercialización, en el que trabaja hasta el momento.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de verduras) que adquirirá de las ferias de la Ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene un hijo.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones y el crédito.
