Residing in the Sampov Meas district of Pursat province, Phan is 51 years old and is married with six children. She earns a living through farming rice and corn in the local area. Having been in these businesses for 20 years, Phan is able to earn about KHR 27,000 per day, and she manages to save about 15,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.
Phan has been with VisionFund for one cycle. She fully repaid the past loan, which has enabled her family to have enough food.
Now she is requesting a loan of 2,000,000 KHR to buy fertilizers and seeds for her farmland. She hopes to earn more income from her plantation so as to make a better living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
