Nan is a 34-year-old woman, who lives in a rural village of the Dambae district, Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. To make a living, she has been growing cassava for 15 years. The current business earns her about 33,000 KHR per day.
Nan has been with VisionFund for three loan cycles and successfully repaid her previous loans. Now she is applying for another loan, in the amount of 2,000,000 KHR, from VisionFund. She will use this loan to buy fertilizers and seeds for her farmland. She hopes to reap a greater crop yield, so as to make a better living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
