Kha is 44 years old and one of the breadwinners in the family consisting of eight children. She supports her entire household via cassava farming, soybean farming, and working for others for a fee. This is the business that she has had for 25 years.
Kha is the first cycle client with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She is now seeking 1,200,000 KHR in order to buy potash, insecticide, and to pay for a weeding fee. She hopes that she can gain high yield better than before so that she can increase more income and renovate her house to a better condition.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
