Ibtissam is a 47-year-old widowed mother of three children. She has worked hard to meet their needs and provide them with the best of living conditions since her husband passed away. In 2008, Ibtissam started her own food preparation and selling business, to make her family's living, after her husband left her and her precious children alone with no fixed income. Ibtissam's business is home-based. She prepares food and sells it in response to her customers’ needs. Today she is working hard on expanding her business, since her children’s needs are increasing. Because she is a Palestinian refugee, the fields in which she can work are limited, which is why she found this business, which is easy to manage at home, where she can take care of both family and business issues. Ibtissam is applying for a loan from Kiva's partner Al Majmoua to buy a freezer she needs for her business, to preserve the food she prepares in a fresh healthy way until it is sold. She hopes to expand her business, to make sure her family will have a brighter future.
