Virginia, who is 53 years old, has worked in agriculture for ten years; it is her principal source of income. She grows corn, and she covers some of her household expenses with what she earns from her harvests. She lives with her two children and three grandchildren in a house that she owns.

Virginia wants to buy the supplies she needs for her crops, such as soil amendments, fertilizers, and seeds, and to improve the land that she farms, which appears in the photograph. Given that she doesn't have the economic resources necessary for that investment, she has made the decision to request a loan, as that is the only way she can continue her cultivation process.

Just like all farmers, Virginia puts her trust in agriculture since she has no other source of income; she wants to better herself by doing the best she can with her plantings. She hopes to reap an abundant harvest, which will allow her to continue bringing home the daily bread and to pay off this loan.
