The members of 'Dorado' community bank are about to start their first loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Panamericana regional office. The group has six members and is run by a board of directors which has Sonia as its treasurer. The businesses that the group's members are engaged in are varied and include selling cosmetics, running a liquor store, running a small restaurant and selling flip flops.

The loan that they are taking out will benefit these small businesswomen. Sonia is a member of this group. She says that she joined Pro Mujer four years ago, through an invitation from a loan officer who came to visit her at home. Sonia has a business selling cosmetics. It was her husband who advised her to set up her business and she has been running it for twelve years. It is very profitable and allows her to spend time with her children.

Sonia is taking out this loan to increase her merchandise. She will buy perfumes and creams from wholesale suppliers and then sell them from her sales space. This work allows her to make income with which to support her household. She is married and has two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Sonia replied that she likes the group meetings.

La A.C. “DORADOS” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Panamericana, está compuesta por seis integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Sonia es la Tesorera. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de cosméticos, licorería, pensión, venta de chinelas.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Sonia es integrante, ella indica que hace cuatro años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por la invitación de un asesor de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de cosméticos; da a conocer que este negocio lo emprendió por consejo de su esposo y lleva en el negocio doce años, ya que es muy fructífero y le da opción de estar con sus hijos.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de su mercadería (compra de perfumes y cremas) que adquirirá de las empresas distribuidoras por mayor y posteriormente lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene dos hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las reuniones.
