Kou is a 42-year-old who lives in Sanniquille, the capital city of Nimba County, which is rich in nature resources and where living conditions are much better than in the capital city of Liberia. It is the second largest most populous county in Liberia. She described herself as a hard-working woman. She completed ninth grade, and she has lived all her life in Sanniqulle. She is married, traditionally, and her husband is a security guard. They have eight children between the ages of 3 and 22, she said. Only two of her children are in school, and they all live in the same house, which was built by her husband. With a little money from her husband, she was able to establish her business, in which she sells dried bush meat at a table in the local market. She spends 10 hours on her business, from Monday to Saturday. A problem she faces is having only a few goods on her table. She is applying for a loan to buy more dried bush meat for her business. Her plan is to build a modern house one day.
