Watfa is a 52-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and three children. After gaining 20 years of experience working as a tailor, she decided in 2000 to start her own work from her home. She is a talented tailor producing stunning and attractive designs. Today, she is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to purchase textiles to extend her production and therefore earn superior income. Watfa is very positive and she hopes to be able to open her own tailoring factory soon.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
