Halima is a married woman who has been blessed with four children all of whom attend school. Together with her husband, they live at their own house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
She has operated a fish selling business for over three years, selling from home to restaurant operators and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality and perishability leading to losses.
With the Kshs 30,000 loan she wants to purchase bundles of fish to resell. She dreams of expanding her business and establishing another business in the near future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
