Pedro is the coordinator of the group “Paix de Jesus de Bras de Lance”. He is a single man with two children. He lives in northern Haïti, where electricity is scarce and water supplies are very limited.

Pedro owns a small grocery store where he sells various food products. Prior to that, he was in school. He hopes that this loan will help him to expand his activity.

Pedro’s biggest challenge is to become a prominent merchant in the northern region. His main goal is to run a substantial business activity that will allow him to build a large house, with the help of Esperanza Int.

The other members of the group Paix de Jesus need financial assistance for business activities such as the sale of cosmetics, miscellaneous products, etc.

Pedro possede un muni epicerie et il vend des produits alimentaires. Avant de ce commencer ce commerce Il était un écolier. Il espère que cet emprunt l’aidera a grandir son commerce.

Des autres membres de Paix de Jesus ont besoin d’un emprunt pour le commerce tel ques ventes produits de cosmétiques et produits divers, etc. Il déclare que son défi principal est de devenir un grand commerçant dans le département du nord. Pedro dit son but principal c’est d’avoir un grand commerce qui lui facilitera a construire une grande maison avec l’aide d'Esperanza Int.

This loan is designed for a borrower or group of borrowers in Haiti. Esperanza is one of the few MFIs currently working in the northeast region of the country. Through lending, the organization aims to stimulate economic growth and opportunity in a country that has suffered debilitating crises, including political instability, natural disasters and poverty. Esperanza lends primarily to groups of women who cross-guarantee each other's loans. They also receive financial literacy courses and health services.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
