Mwanaisha is a widowed woman. She has two children, both of whom are adults. Mwanaisha owns a house that has electricity, but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
Mwanaisha operates a coconut-selling business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. She faces stiff competition from other coconut sellers in the area.
With the KES 15,000 loan, she wants to purchase bundles of coconuts for resale. She decided to join Yehu Microfinance Trust to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
