Mariam is married and has four children and all her children go to school. She doesn't take care of additional family members. She has a business of selling green bananas and she has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 Uganda shillings from MCDTSACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. She has been in this business for 10 years selling on a retail basis and works in the market seven days out of every week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and transportation. She is aspiring of become a wholesale business and also to build her own house. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses includes rent, medication and school fees.
