Yeng is 55 years old and a citizen from the Kampong Cham province. Her main source of income is from paddy rice farming and cassava cultivation, with which she has engaged for 21 years. This is Yeng's second loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has repaid back her past loan wisely, to support her living. Now, she is seeking a new loan of 3,500,000 KHR in order to buy additional farmland to expand her agribusiness. She hopes that she can increase yield from her crops and earn more profit in order to buy pigs for raising extra income.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
