Pedro es un joven soltero de 19 años de edad vive junto a sus padres y hermanos en la Aldea Monte Mercedes, Aldea Sacsiguán Centro, Sololá, Sololá.
El actualmente tiene una tienda de abarrotes en el lugar de su vivienda, la cual es una fuente ingresos económicos para sus estudios y familia. Inicio esta actividad hace 3 años, esta labor le ha permitido seguir estudiando y ahora se encuentra cursando el grado de Quinto Perito en Administración de Empresas. Cuenta que en la mañana atiende su tienda y por la tarde estudia esto lo hace con el fin de superarse y así mejorar las condiciones de vida de su familia.
El ha observado que las ventas se han mantenido y que las ganancias son aceptables por lo que está solicita un préstamo de Q 3,000.00 para comprar mas productos y ampliar su tienda de abarrotes de este modo el puede brindarle una mejor variedad a sus clientes.
Su sueño es culminar su carrera y abrir otro local para poder generar más ingresos para seguir estudiando.

ADICLA's youth entrepreneurship loans allow young people without prior credit histories to borrow in groups, an opportunity that is not offered by many other microfinance institutions in Guatemala. The loans will be used to help them start small businesses.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations. Kiva funding will be used to support three innovative credit initiatives: youth business loans, green loans, and smaller loans to help ADICLA move down-market and serve poorer clients.
