Annie is a 38-year-old businesswoman from Liberia. She is single and has two children between 7 and 5. They are currently attending school and live at home. She completed 3rd grade before starting her business. She describes herself as a smart businesswoman.
She lives and works in Paynesville North, which has the largest market in Montserrado County. The area is home to “round time marketers”, the local term for traders who travel to the interior regions of the country to purchase goods to sell throughout the county. Because of this, there are a large number of wholesalers operating in the area that distribute to the markets in the county, including supplying the capital city of Monrovia.
Annie has owned a table business where she sells used clothes for the past four years. She works 11 hours a day at her business. Her greatest challenge in business is a small amount of capital. She intends to use the loan to buy used clothes for her business. She started her business with money from her fiancee. She likes her business because she makes profit. She hopes to one day to own a house.
She wants to thank the Kiva lenders in advance for their help.
