Saumu is single. She lives in her own house that has both electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.
For the past four years, she has operated a tailoring business, operating from the market where neighbors and passersby are potential customers. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her place of operation.
With the Kshs 30,000 she wants to purchase clothing materials and needles, and to repair her broken sewing machine.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
