Mwanamisi, age 29, is a married woman. She has two children, one of whom attends school. Mwanamisi owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Mwanamisi operates a car wash business. Her potential customers are car owners and [operators of] public vehicles. She faces stiff competition from other car washers. With this 40,000 Kenyan shilling loan, she wants to purchase washing detergents and spraying water pipes. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
