Andresita of Bañadero, Ozamiz City is a married woman and a mother of five children. For a living, she helps her husband by operating a store selling goods in their community. She has been doing this for many years. Recently, she borrwed a loan of 5,000 PHP from GDMPC micro credit which she joined recently in order to purchase goods like noodles, biscuits and candies to sell. She hopes to expand her business so their family can have better living conditions in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
