Leap, 27, lives in a rural village of the Sa Ang district of Kandal province in Cambodia. She is married with one daughter.
Leap and her husband earn a living through farming rice and growing cassava and have done so for several years. The current business earns her about 84,000 Cambodian riel (KHR) per day, and she can save about 40,000 KHR per day for future needs.
Leap is just with VisionFund for this cycle. Now she is applying for a loan with VisionFund for 1,500,000 KHR to buy fertilizer for her farmland.
She hopes to grow her current business to increase her family’s income and improve her standard of living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
