Chorn, a citizen from Moung Russey district in Battambang province, is 51 years old and the mother of nine children. Currently, only one of her kids is still in school. She strives for a living by rice farming on a five and one-half hectare area of land. Having worked at this occupation for ages, she is able to earn up to 32,000 KHR per day.
Chorn has never before borrowed with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). Now, she is seeking a 2,000,000 KHR loan. She will use it to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She highly believes that she can reap a good yield from her cash crop, and make a good income.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
