Melanie E. was born in Aného on January 4, 1968. She is married, the mother of four, and is responsible for one other person. Not having been fortunate enough to attend school, she entered into the commerce of sacks and bags at the outdoor market in Akodésséwa. With her husband being an unemployed taxi driver, she alone has been taking care of the family for five years. Experienced in commerce, she has done well to extract herself from this problem situation. She is now requesting a loan of $800 as capital to lease a store and to augment her inventory of sacks, so that her family may achieve its potential.
