Don Cristóbal is 57 years old. He is married and works as a labourer buying and selling bananas. His business is located at his home in the Caserío Pajocá, in the village of Pacamaché, Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán, in Sololá department. Because of his constant efforts to get ahead, he managed to obtain a small banana business. His positive attitude in the community means he is a well-known and well-liked businessman in Caserío Pajocá.


In the past he was a labourer doing work in the countryside for various people; he used to work on farms in order to earn money for his family. Thanks to his hard work, he managed to buy several plots of land growing bananas and coffee. As a result of the harvests, he managed to start a small business buying and selling bananas. Because he doesn’t have enough money to continue his business, he went to the ASDIR offices for a loan so that he would be better able to serve his customers and become more a part of the community. In this way he will be able to continue expanding his business and provide his family with better quality of life.


Cristóbal M. E. is known in the community as a responsible and principled person and as a good businessman. He currently has one employee in his banana business, a business that has generated work opportunities and also provided a better standard of living for his employee.

Don Cristóbal tiene actualmente 57 años de edad, es Unido, de oficio Jornalero y que
actualmente se dedica al comercio (compra y venta de banano) la cual su negocio se
encuentra ubicado en su domicilio en el Caserío Pajocá, de la Aldea Pacamaché, Santa
Catarina Ixtahuacán, departamento de Sololá, gracias a sus esfuerzos día a día para salir
adelante logro tener un pequeño negocio de Banano, y su actitud positiva en la
comunidad ahora ya es un comerciante muy conocido y querido en la comunidad del
Caserío Pajocá, ya que antes era jornalero para realizar trabajos de campo con diferentes
personas, viajaba en fincas a ganar dinero para el mantenimiento de su familia, y gracias a
esos esfuerzos consiguió comprar varias cuerdas de terreno con cultivos de banano y café, y
con sus cosechas que recibe de parte de ellos logro iniciar un pequeño negocio de compra
y venta de banano, por tal razón que no cuenta con un capital suficiente para seguir
dicho negocio se vio en la necesidad de acudir en las oficinas de la Asociación ASDIR,
para poder dar una mejor atención a la clientela y así poder identificarse mas con la comunidad
y solo así poder seguir creciendo en su negocio y poder mejorar las condiciones de vida
para su familia.

A don Cristóbal M. E., se le conoce en la comunidad como una persona responsable
y de buenos principios como un buen emprendedor del trabajo que realiza, actualmente
cuenta con 1 trabajador en su negocio de compra de banano la cual esto ha generado
oportunidades de trabajo, como también a que la familia del empleado tenga una mejor
condición de vida.
