Zebi
Zebi is a middle aged woman; she is married and has four children and lives in the Gafurov district. She has worked as a dry-cleaner for over thirty years. Her husband is a farmer; he has land where he grows rice. The family now has seven members: Zebi's two sons and two daughters, the elder daughter's husband, and the wife and child of the eldest son, who works in construction. The younger son is finishing high school this year.

Zebi has a large house, and she would like to do some repairs, since upkeep hasn't been done in a very long time. The house is in bad condition, but to fix it will require money, and they don't have much extra since in May Zebi's husband spent money on rice planting, and the harvest will be in October. For that reason Zebi decided to request a loan to buy building materials and repair the house. She thanks you in advance for bringing her plans to fruition.

But Arvand loans have been able to make a difference and change lives. Read about some of the incredible success stories they have seen here in this Kiva blog post: Bringing hope to Tajikistan with Arvand -- one success story at a time.
