Francis is a 50-year-old married man with five children whose ages range from two through 25. For the past ten years, he has operated a business selling bananas and cereals such as maize and peas. Francis describes himself to be honest. His business is located in a profitable area and his primary customers are local residents. Francis's biggest business challenge is the unavailability of land to rent and farm.
Francis is requesting a 15,000 KES loan to rent a piece of land for growing more food crops to sell. This is his first loan with SMEP DTM. Francis plans to buy a piece of land in the area within five years and hopes that, in the future, he will be self reliant and independent.
