The “Las del Río” (The Ones from the River) group consists of 8 women who live around Jadan Parish in Cuenca, a place surrounded by beautiful scenery with an architecture that blends the ancient with the modern; its residents are very gracious and still retain the culture and traditions of their peoples. Their economic activity is agriculture, animal husbandry, rope making and some of them go into the city to work in various jobs.

One of this group’s members is María Rosario. She’s been in this group for three years and likes being with her girlfriends while at the same time it’s a quick way of getting capital for her business.

She is 42-years-old, married and has conceived ten children. One of them is married and lives independently, one of her sons is employed and helps her economically, one is attending university, three are in secondary school, three in primary school and her youngest son still stays at home. Her husband works as a day laborer and they own their house.

María Rosario works in agriculture growing vegetables and she has a tomato nursery; she also raises chickens, pigs, guinea pigs and cattle.

She will use her new loan to buy manure, tomato seeds and animal feed. Her goal is to enlarge the nursery.

El grupo de crédito Las del Rio, está formado por 8 mujeres quienes viven por los alrededores de la parroquia de Jadan en Cuenca, lugar rodeado de hermosos paisajes, su arquitectura es una mezcla de lo antiguo y lo moderno, su gente es muy amable y aun mantienen la cultura y tradiciones de sus pueblos, su actividad económica es la agricultura, la crianza de animales y la elaboración de sogas, algunos salen a la ciudad a trabajar en diferentes actividades.

Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. María Rosario, se encuentra en este grupo desde hace 3 años le gusta esta estar con sus amigas y a la vez es una manera rápida de obtener capital para su negocio.

Ella tiene 42 años, es casada y fruto de su unión ha concebido 10 hijos, uno de ellos es casado y vive independiente, uno de sus hijos trabaja y le ayuda económicamente, uno estudia en la universidad, tres están en el colegio, tres en la escuela y su último hijo aun pasa en casa. Su esposo labora como jornalero, la casa en la que viven es propia.

Doña María Rosario se dedica a la agricultura, siembra hortalizas y tiene un invernadero de tomates, también cría gallinas, cerdos, cuyes y ganado.

Su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en abono, en semillas de tomate y alimento para sus animales.

Su meta es agrandar más su invernadero.
