Jane is a married woman with five kids. She lives at a rental house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family and fees for the children.
For the past two years, she has operated a cafe business, selling food from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of establishing a hotel business in the future.
With the loan that she is requesting of Kes 50,000, she wants to purchase stocks of wheat flour, maize flour, beans and rice. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
