Eng
Eng is married mother of four children who lives in the Samrong District of Takeo Province. She is 45-years-old and she is a rice farmer. Having been in this business for 20 years, she is able to earn about US $7 per day and manages to save about US $3 each day after daily expenses.

Eng has joined VisionFund, Kiva’s partner, for one cycle. She completely paid back a past loan which has helped her to support her children’s education. Now she is asking for a loan with VisionFund to pay for her son’s university tuition. She hopes this loan will enable her to support her son’s education until graduation and also that it will help to relieve her family's financial burden so she can sustain and grow her business.

It is disbursed to the borrower in annual installments.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
