Maricel of Sto. Niño, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur is 28 years old and earns a living by selling barbeque, hanging rice and salad in the market. She's been doing this for two years. Recently, she joined GDMPC and is now requesting a loan of 7,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) to buy raw ingredients for food production. She plans to improve her business in order to gain more income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
