Georges is a 63-year-old married man living with his wife and three children. Despite his older age, he is still working to support his family financially. He owns an electrical generator by which he provides neighboring citizens with electrical power. He has fair number of customers.
Performing maintenance on the generator and filling it with required fuel are very pricey. That’s why today Georges is requesting to take a loan from Kiva's partner, Vitas s.a.l., so as to purchase the needed quantity of fuel to be able to carry on with his operations properly and constantly.
In the future, Georges plans to pass on his profession to one of his children and confirms that he will keep on supervising his work closely as he worked very hard over 20 years to reach what he has attained so far.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
