Kulusum is married with five children, all of whom go to school. She has a business selling green bananas and sweet potatoes. She has been in this business for three years. She has applied for a loan of 400,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. She generates additional income through selling spare parts. She sells on a retail basis only, six days out of every week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to build rental rooms. She resides in the family house and the family has no access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and medication.
