Wossidji Ii Group's story

The members of the group "WOSSIDJI II" are married women averaging 38 years of age and three children each. They live for the most part in polygamous families in Warinibougou, a village in Commune de Guégnaka, Préfecture de Dioîla, Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of better organizing their work at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include millet and peanuts along with okra. The women are on their sixth collaboration with the institution.

With this new loan, BINTOU, who is standing in the middle in the photo, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing to maintain 2 hectares of millet, peanuts, and okra.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in to men and women customers in Fana City. She plans on making a profit of about 175,000 francs CFA for this planting.
