Mirian
Mirian is 41 years old and is married with two children, who are in different years at primary school. She completed primary education thanks to the support she was given by her parents. Her, with her husband, makes a living growing coffee because this activity is a tradition of her and her husband's family . She also grows basic grains such as rice, corn, and beans. Her coffee crops are located 30km from her home, and she travels to them by vehicle.

She has requested a loan from Cooperativa COMIXMUL to buy urea, fertiliser and compost to support and maintain her coffee plants.

Her plans and goals are to be able to introduce technology to her plot of land over time, making it easier to maintain and cut crops among other activities that are necessary to help them better. Her dreams are to support her children until they graduate at a higher level so that they have a stable base and develop in the way they want for their and their families wellbeing.

Doña Mirian tiene 41 años de edad es casada y tiene 2 hijos que están en primaria cursando diferentes grados de educación. Ella tiene un grado de educación primaria completa la cual pudo cursar gracias al apoyo brindado por sus padres. Ella en compañía de su esposo se dedica particular mente a la producción de café ya que esta actividad ha sido tradición en su familia y en la de su pareja. Ella también cultiva granos básicos como ser arroz, maíz y frijoles. Sus cultivos de café están ubicados a una distancia de 30 kilómetros de su casa de habitación al cual se traslada en vehículo.

Ella ha solicitado a la Cooperativa COMIXMUL un financiamiento para la compra de urea, fertilizantes y abono para dar asistencia y mantenimiento a sus cultivos de café.

Sus planes y metas es con el tiempo poder tecnificar la zona de su cultivo, facilitándole más el mantenimiento, corte entre otros que son necesario para poderla asistir de una mejor forma. Sus sueños son los de apoyar a sus hijos hasta verlos graduados a nivel superior para que tengan una base y puedan desenvolverse como a ellos mejor les convenga para su bienestar y el de sus familias.

These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
