A loan of $325 helped to buy rice, sugar, oil, condiments, etc.

Gloria Elena's story

Doña Gloria, age 48, lives in the city of Estelí, and has made a living selling food for 15 years. She has a beautiful stand with four tables and chairs. She has a kitchen, where the delicious plates are prepared, and she says that "only the smell makes the customers follow". She started working when she was very young, when her children were still small. She only had their small savings, but could succeed despite lacking a lot of working capital. Now, her food stand is very popular and she has plenty of customers.

She is requesting this loan because she wants to invest in the business to buy wholesale products like rice, sugar, oil, and condiments, products that are non-perishable. Her future plans are to improve the conditions of the dining area to make it more attractive for her customers.
